The artwork consists of cut pieces of mouth-blown glass with various textures in shades of green, adhered to a piece of clear glass.

The motif is based on microscopic images of the filamentous algae that cause oxygen depletion and slime algae blooms, for example in the Limfjord.

In market towns like Thisted (DK), decorative windows often adorn the entrances of houses with rosettes or small nature motifs. This decorative window reflects the lack of life in the nearby fjord in our time, and is displayed in the window of the historic town hall overlooking Thisted’s main square, Store Torv.
